CPR have been awarded a contract to deliver a civil engineering package of works at Invercannie Water Treatment Works (WTW). The Scottish Water owned plant is undergoing a £52M upgrade through delivery partner ESD and works are expected to take up to 2 years to complete.
The upgrade of the Victorian built plant will include a new water tank, pumping station and associated pipework. This will increase the capacity of the plant to produce 63 million litres of drinking water a day for Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
CPR became an approved supplier to ESD in 2021 and the civils package will be the first project they have delivered for the new client.
The works are across eight separate areas such as the dechlorination chamber and lime dosing trench, and include,
- Ducts, pipework and chambers
- Excavation and filling works
- Kerbing works
- Formwork
- Installation of concrete
- Resurfacing remedial works
- SPEL tank
