CPR Complete 1300+ sq m Platform Civil Works at Cambuslang Station

The CPR team successfully completed almost 1500 sq metres of resurfacing at Cambuslang Station in August this year. The works were carried out on behalf of Balfour Beatty. They included core resurfacing services including excavation and removal, surface material supply, layers compacted and base and wearing courses laid.

CPR have completed a series of works on stations around Scotland on behalf of Balfour Beatty throughout 2012-13. This station is one of the largest and took 5 months to complete. It is a busy commuter station so CPR worked outside of operating hours to ensure there was minimum disruption to passengers while works were ongoing.

The station was opened in 1849 and originally had two large station buildings on each platform. These were later demolished, with one building being built on the Main Street containing the ticket office.

The first row of images are of the station before the resurfacing works, and the second is after works were completed.
