Interserve – Reinstatement Works & Vehicle Crossing

2 days – Civil/Commercial

We carried out two civil kinds of works for Interserve, who are based in Airdrie. These were reinstatement works and a vehicle crossing. As this was carried out on two different roads, Lancaster Ave and Bowhill Road which meant that before any kind of work was carried out, traffic management had to be set up in order to ensure safety for workers and general public. The location of the services were specified by Interserve Industrial Services.

The methodology for both projects were exactly the same. First off, the excavation area was marked out by spray and then the road saw was used, ensuring measurements were in place, and the area clear of debris and tidy. The ground was prepared for installation of road kerbs and flat top kerbs.

These kerbs are laid on a bed of C20 that has hunching for stability and support. Using the ride-on roller, type 1 sub base, base course, surface course and white chip are all laid in that order. Grass is reinstated to match the surrounding area. And a final inspection is carried out by the foreman.
