Lomond and Clyde Pipeband Sponsorship Update

Lomond and Clyde Pipe Band took time out of their first competitive season as a Grade 1 band to launch their new tartan (pictured) sponsored by CPR, at the UK Championships in Belfast.

They are mid-way thought the season which kicked off in May at the British Championships in Paisley, then the UK Championships in Belfast in June, and onto the European Championships in Forres at the end of June.

Alisdair Tennant, Assistant Pipe Major said " Going forward we aim to maintain our status as a Grade 1 Pipe Band and under the leadership of Pipe Major David Wilton and Leading Drummer Allan Craig, improve year on year to become an established top 10 and ultimately top 6 Pipe Band in the World!'

He continued " The band are making good progress with our initial targets as a brand new top level Grade 1 Band and look forward to a short break during July prior to the Scottish Championships at Levengrove Park, Dumbarton on Saturday 28th July and culminating in the 2-day World Pipe Band Championships event on Glasgow Green on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th August. Amongst a field of 450 Bands, we hope to reach the final 12 at the top level of Grade 1 - even reaching the Final will feel like a win!

After a well earned break, the season will resume at the Scottish Championships in Dumbarton, which is on the doorsteps of CPR's HQ in West Dunbartonshire. We are looking forward to showing our support and cheering them on on the day.
