Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme

CPR won a contract to deliver surfacing and civil works on behalf of Morgan Sindall, on the £742M EGIP Project, the most significant investment into Scotland’s Rail Infrastructure.

Projects will deliver the electrification of the line between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Rolling stock will be longer, faster and greener and as such major conversion works will be required across the whole line.

The first project is to extend all seven of Queen Street Station’s high level platforms are being extended to enable faster, longer, greener trains. CPR have been contracted by Morgan Sindall to undertake parts of the platform extension works including excavation, back fill and resurfacing across all seven platforms. The project started on 20th March 2016 and was completed within 20 weeks as the CPR Rail Division teams worked a 24 hour working pattern to deliver this major rail excavation and resurfacing project.
